Report from Accountex 2014

Lyanne, Jacky and Martin all attended The National Accountancy Exhibition and Conference last week. Here’s what they thought …

From the start you could tell that there were more people there than the previous year. The hall was buzzing with attendees trying to make sense of this new hosted world and the software that comes with it. Wilds attended last year so we had already made a start down this particular path but the speed with which some of the products are gaining traction is amazing. Soon the spreadsheet as a bookkeeping tool, I am sure, will long be in the past.

Off the back of our attendance we are looking at some new online software that will enable us to keep all of your records bang up-to-date (daily, if you want) and also be logged on to your data to advise you as you are entering your data. In addition to this, we will be able to advise on figures that can literally include the day’s transactions at the bank. We are really excited about the possibility of working with you in this way and will be in touch soon regarding these services.

Away from that, tax is still a big topic both in terms of fee protection insurance and also capital allowance changes if you have purchased property for the business. If you need help with this or any other tax advice please contact Jacky Buchsbaum, our in-house guru!
