The PAYE deadline is approaching on the 22nd if you pay monthly. If you are paying by cheque or through the post, however, the deadline is the 19th.
What you’re paying
It’s important name to be prepared and know what you’re paying. Your PAYE bill may include:
• Employee Income Tax deductions
• Class 1 and 1B National Insurance
• Student Loan repayments
• Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) deductions
• Your Apprenticeship Levy payments (starting from April 2017) if you, or employers you’re connected to, have an annual pay bill of more than £3 million
Remember that both Class 1A National Insurance bill and PAYE Settlement Agreements are both paid separately.
Making sure payment has been received
You can check your HMRC online account – this should normally update name within 6 days of making payment. To request a receipt of payment if paying by post, you can include a letter with your payment.
