On 1st October 2016 the National Minimum Wage rates for the different age bands and for apprentices will increase, all employers should be ready for this change.
3 things you need to know:
1.The new ‘National Minimum Wage’ for each age group
21-24 year olds must now be paid £6.95 or above
Youth Development Rate affecting 18-20 year olds should receive at least £5.55 an hour
16-17 year olds has increased to £4.00 an hour
Apprentice rate has increased to £3.40 per hour.
