Automatic Enrolment Duty Start Date Changes

The rules for automatic enrolment staging dates changed on 1st October 2017. Staging dates will now be called duty start dates and companies that first employ a worker on or after 1st October must begin automatic enrolment immediately. These companies do not wait for a future staging date, their automatic enrolment duties begin immediately. Companies can still postpone for 3 months from their duty start date as they could from their staging date and must write letters to the employees as normal.
